Allie Hall from AppoLearning gave DoReMi 1-2-3 a great review! Recently, we participated in a Free App Friday which garnered a lot of attention. One of the most impressive reviews we’ve received is from AppoLearning, which gave DoReMi 1-2-3 a 96/100 score! Please read below for the rest of the review:

Why we love this app
The majority of musical apps for young children focus primarily on instrumental play, but this app by Creativity Inc. trumps their competitors by incorporating numbers and colors into their beautifully illustrated musical world. With six adorable characters and scenes that your child can relate to, this app provides endless opportunities for musical exploration and play. DoReMi 1-2-3 also uses specific musical note names to help children become familiar with the order of a musical scale – something quite unique to the world of musical apps. Before you know it, even you will be singing “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star” to the tune of “Do, Do, Sol, Sol, La, La, Sol”! This app topped the #1 iPad music game in the US and also won the Best Music Teaching App of 2011.

What it teaches and how it works
Children have the option to create their own song by pressing characters representing the notes on a scale or to follow instructions to play a familiar song from the apps database. Younger children new to the app will enjoy creating their own song using a cute character and setting of their choice. In addition, by changing the learning meter on the screen, they can make their character sing number names, colors, musical notes, or sounds. Children may also choose to record their song! Children up for more more of a slight challenge can use the second part of this app to learn how to play a song such as “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” or “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep.” Each song featured in this portion of the app is broken into six simple levels so that children slowly learn to play an entire song, step by step.

Why your kid won’t be able to put it down
With six happy characters such as a cow, a mouse, a star, and a panda bear (to name a few) children will naturally be drawn to this app. Each character makes an original sound and children will laugh with delight as a bouncy duck quacks “Hickory, Dickory, Dock” or a large cow moos soprano. Children can also choose where their characters sing from six beautifully illustrated scenes with catchy names like Presto Planet and Rockin’ River. After selecting their character and setting, children can mix things up by making their animals belt out colors and numbers. Older children will enjoy the challenge of learning to play a complete song thanks to the kid-friendly way the six levels are constructed. These features, combined, provide a fresh and unique learning experience each and every time your child opens this app.

Thank you, Allie Hall, for this great review! Happy learning!
